Tammy & Lori want to welcome you to the Powers Family Site and introduce you to Milo Sebastian.

Milo finally arrived on April 3, 2007 at 12:24 PM. He weighed in at 7lbs 8oz and was 21 inches long.

Thank you to all of you that have supported us through the pregnancy and birth of this most amazing child! We love you!

Doctors visits and other life events:

October 23, 2006: Genetics testing and OB appointment. Everything looks great. We have limited risk factors. It's a BOY!!!

November 21, 2006: We've got a big boy growing here. At 22 weeks 3 days he's measuring 23.5-24 weeks. I guess it's all those veggies I've been eating, huh? Everything is still going well. Our next appointment is December 18, 2006, so check back!

December 18, 2006: Everything is going great. His size has evened out, thankfully! We had our glucose tolerance test today. No gestational diabetes! Now we start going to the doc every 2 weeks.

January 3, 2007: We have only 11 weeks and 4 days left! OMG, we are about to be parents!!! The appointment went well today. Milo didn't let the CNM get a full count on the heart rate but that's because he's a fabulous kicker and really hates the doppler. We are on the two week schedule for a bit. Such a busy time. We have our maternity tour on Saturday and our childbirth classes the first weekend in February. We are meeting with Pediatricians starting in February. too. It's all just so exciting.

January 6, 2007: Maternity tour. I'm not sure we learned anything but at least we know which entrance to use. The rooms are nice and they are expanding from 4 floors to 7 by April.

January 17, 2007: It's getting so close! Everything is going well. Milo is still a week ahead of schedule according to his size. 9 weeks and 3 days left! The Braxton Hicks contractions are so interesting.

January 31, 2007: 52 days left! Our OB appointment today went very well. We actually saw the doctor instead of the midwife this time. Our midwife was at the hospital delivering other babies. Milo is still doing fabulously. He's measuring 34 weeks even though we are just a little over 32 weeks. I have a little carpel tunnel thing going on with my hands which isn't fun, but I'd still do this all over again in a minute. The doc said we had to do a second child so Milo isn't lonely... We will see how the delivery goes before signing up for the next insemination. LOL We will be meeting Milo's pediatrician on Feb. 14, 2007.

February 12, 2007: 40 days to go! Infant CPR Class tonight. Learned something new. They have updated CPR to be 30 compression and 2 breathes. Always good to know.

February 14, 2007: Happy Valentine's Day!! 38 Days to go! We met with one of the Pediatricians today. I'm not cutting back flips but she was okay. We've decided to check out a few more before we decide on who is going to be caring for Milo during his formative years. We have appointments on 3/2/07 to meet with a couple of others.

We also had our OB appointment today. Milo is doing great. Heart sounds good, growing like a weed. We saw Dr. Frye again who we haven't seen since early, early in the pregnancy. He is a funny, funny man. I have a raging case of Carpel tunnel now. Both hands are numb or hurting all the time. No fun at all. Survivable but no fun. And this too shall pass. LOL

February 17, 2007: 35 Days to go! Time sure is marching on. Today was Breastfeeding class. Did you know you are suppose to wake up your baby all day to feed? I had always heard, "Never wake a sleeping baby" but it really makes sense to keep him up all day, well not really all day, but feed him regularly all day (every 2-3 hours) so he's good and satisfied at night. Then at night he's not awake, hungry and grumpy just awake and hungry. Neat class. It's one of the few I've enjoyed. I'm a little less apprehensive about breastfeeding now. I feel like I've got an advantage.

T Minus 6 days until the shower!

February 24, 2007: The Baby Shower...I don't know if you can call what we had a shower but it was fun. There had to be at least 50+ people there. We had great food. I was amazed at the connections that were made between folks there. People who had never met hitting it off right away, a mother and grandmother finding out their son/grandsons were best friends in the real world, and two people who hadn't seen each other since they went to the prom together met up again. How strange was that? I'll be updating the picture page as soon as possible. I'm still waiting on a few pictures from others to add to my collection.

February 27, 2007: 3 weeks and 4 days left! It is still flying by! I'm starting to get my bags packed for the big day. Not really...but I am making lists. LOL We saw the midwife today. She says Milo is around 5.5-6lbs right now but will be 8lbs when we deliver. He is doing well and is head down and ready to go. She did assure me that "white girls deliver late". She also told us we were having a girl...we will see. There is a lunar eclipse this weekend...

At some point I was just too pregnant to continue updating this part of the site... Milo was born anyway! LOL  I will eventually get to our birth story.  Just not today.
